Liz and Dan have been wonderful to work with from the start! I enjoyed getting to know them when we did their engagement photos and they even got to meet my horse Joe too! What I loved most about their wedding day is that it was truly about THEM. They are very sweet people, and often times I see people like them trying to please everyone else, and instead their friends and family came together and made it THEIR day.
They chose to have a first look, and read each other their custom vows in private, and I really appreciated being there to hear their vows. I understand how it can become so overwhelming with emotions, you can barely say a word and they were definitely a little nervous to speak in front of everyone. This is when I think first looks come into play, it allows the new couple to share their feelings and emotions and not worry about everyone else. They really got to enjoy this moment together.
The wedding ceremony felt like rain with a few sprinkles but it held off, thankfully. Each person who walked down the aisle, including the groomsmen, carried a white rose in memory of Dan's mom, who passed away. I am really glad I had a camera to hide my face, not a dry eye at the ceremony. Liz's brother Patrick married them, and had meaningful words to say to the new couple.
We moved into a few large group family photos following the ceremony, then we had a nice amount of time for Liz and Dan's photos. The walk around the pond was longer than we all thought but worth the photos and felt less guilty for eating the cookies on the Pittsburgh cookie table.
When we got to the reception everything was pretty back to back before dinner including the guest TABLE DASH - where each table of guests dash to the dance floor to get a photo with the bride and groom. We got some serious and FUN ones of course! MOH Sarah shared a story from how she met Liz and what she remembered was how nice Liz was and non judgmental and I would agree - as soon as you meet her you feel like you have been friends for a lifetime. Dan's best man Mike, was so well spoken and had similar things to say about Dan and how honest and kind he is.
All I know - Dan and Liz have some amazing friends and family and had a great time of evening celebrations and brought the CHONGA line back which was awesome for pics!
Dan and Liz - I am honored to have captured your day, thank you for sharing all of your special moments with me, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together because you both deserve it. Also - keep me in the loop as your family grows ... could be another dog or a human baby too! I am open to family portraits for the future! Or maybe even a horse?!
Congratulations!!!!
