Sale Horse Photos

Here are some tips to be ready for your photographer on sale horse day!

1. Have all the horses washed, clipped and banded: like they are going to show that day.

2. Use EquiFuse products to have them looking their best! I love the CFS Concentrate Shampoo to pull the yellow out of white. You can purchase from Glowing Results! I added the link for you to check it out! You can enter PROMO CODE for a 10% Discount:  EEP

3. If you wash/groom the day before, use a light sheet to keep them clean.

4. If you do not want wavy manes or tails, let the mane and tail dry before braiding.

5. Have an extra set of hands Designate one person who brings the next horse out and takes the photographed horse back.

6. Ear person - they need to be comfortable making noises (enough to get attention but not too much too spook the horse).

7. Horse handler - the person who is holding each horse for the actual photo. This is ideally a trainer, owner or someone that knows the horse well and can control it.

8. An area that is mowed or cleaned. If you only have the arena to photo that’s fine but maybe drag it so the lines look fresh/clean.

9. I normally bring a variety of colored thin halters I will remove, and average horse size leather halter. If you have a show halter or your own halter - be sure it’s clean. Black lead ropes are preferred especially in black background images.

10. Wear black sleeves, gloves if you are holding for a black background photo.

Many ask how much are sale horse photos? Depending on how far you are and how much I have to travel but for an idea on pricing.

TRIM: (1 horse) One side profile w/headshot $75

The FULL SET: (includes 4 sides and headshot) $175

RIDING IMAGES + FULL SET: $200

I do offer a full day package for larger barns. Typically 8 hours of photos 10-15 horses is about $1900 for the day + travel.

Black Background

Per Horse $100 - includes (1) Hi Res Image, with the option to purchase additional prints, canvas and digitals.

HAPPY SPRING!
