Horses Are Our Guardian Angels

This session is very special, as in a few weeks Bandit will be running pain free, and will be Laura’s guardian horse angel.  Please say a little prayer of comfort as Laura goes through such a difficult time as a horse owner.  This decision has not been made lightly.  Laura was excited to have photos done of her and her horse Bandit who is now 26 years old.  A few months ago when we scheduled the photo session, Laura had no idea that Bandit's condition would progress so quickly.  I’m so happy I was there to capture a few last professional photos for Laura to remember sweet Bandit by.  Even though his body is giving up, his spirit is not, which makes the decision much more difficult.  He did some funny and cute things and that had Laura smiling.  He knew just what she needed.  We started with barn door pictures for a black background and also because this was the easiest place to start to keep him comfortable.  Then the sun started to peak around the barn, so I had to catch a few more; which I am so glad we did!  The morning sun was perfect for the session and Bandit looked like he is already in heaven with how the sun caught his long winter hair coat.  Bandit got a special grassy treat at the end for being such a good boy.
